In India, copyright registration is undertaken to create proprietary rights in the areas of literacy, musical, dramatic and artistic works and other such inventive fields. The procedure for registration of copyright involves

  • 1. Filing of application.
  • 2. Submission of application for copyright registration in Form IV along with requisite fees either in the form of demand draft or through online payment mode.
  • 3. Diary No issued to the applicant on acceptance of application.
  • 4. Examination Of application.
  • 5. Opposition if any;
  • 6. Entry in the Register of copyrights
  • 7. Registration of copyright is granted to the owner.
  • 8. Dispatch of certificate via speed post to the owner.

Documents Required:

  • IPO or Demand Draft for submitting applicable fees;
  • Two soft copies of work
  • NOC from the real owner;
  • Power Of Attorney in case of filing of application by the attorney.
